Anjuman & Avahita Group presented the first edition of FootPrint Film Festival on 4th & 5th July, 2020 . Take a close look at the world through the eyes of children
FootPrint Film Festival is an occasion to witness the work of young filmmakers, to discover new tendencies and new audiovisual languages from across the country and indeed several parts of the world. The festival also creates an opportunity for meaningful exchanges between young filmmakers, to stimulate co-production and enhance the understanding of various themes connected to the festival. Avahita & Anjuman are facilitating children to learn filmmaking through various workshops.

Sudeshna Das is the Founder & Chief Strategist at Avahita Group & Co-founder, Footprint Film Festival.
Anjuman aims to build leadership skills through the pedagogy of art. It consists of artists, art educators and managers who have come together to facilitate high quality arts education to both, children and adults in both, formal and informal spaces. It also promote leadership through art. Bidisha Roy Das is the Founder of Anjuman & Co-founder, Footprint Film Festival.

Nandan Saxena & Kavita Bahl :
Nandan Saxena & Kavita Bahl are independent filmmakers and media-trainers with over 40 films to their credit, many of them are feature-length. After their Masters in World Literature and a diploma in journalism, Kavita reported for the Indian Express and Nandan worked as a television journalist for seven years, in what they call their previous life. Of these, two fruitful years spent in northeast India changed their lives. In 1996, they quit their jobs to follow their dreams. Over two decades into filmmaking, their films are poignant portraits of these times, often blurring the thin line between documentary and cinema. Besides other awards, they have been honoured with the prestigious National Film Award for their films thrice: ‘Cotton for my shroud’: Silver Lotus – Best Investigative Film / NFA–2011; [Headline Film: World Investigative Film Week @ London-2013] , ‘Candles in the wind’: Special mention / NFA–2013; [World Premiere @ Thessaloniki-Greece], ‘I cannot give you my Forest’: Silver Lotus – Best Film on Environment / NFA–2014.
Anwar Chowdhury
Anwar Chowdhury is an internationally renowned documentary film director, producer, trainer, organizer, film activist from Bangladesh. Anwar started his journey of documentary film making back in 2005, while doing his M.A. in Film & Media. Anwar has directed six short creative documentaries so far and has worked on 10 more documentary projects and video productions in various roles. His documentaries have earned recognition in home and abroad. Anwar’s documentary, Waterworks was premiered in 10th International Short & Independent Film Festival 2008, Dhaka and was selected in six national & International film festivals. His other notable film, Barren Dreams was shown as the Inaugural Film for the 4th International Film Festival on Water 2009, Bangalore, India and was chosen in eight national and international film festivals. His latest experimental short documentary titled, Pale in the Colors was screened in various festivals in Asia, Europe and USA.
Laili Dutta
Laili Dutta is a media professional, an independent documentary filmmaker and a musician with over two decades of experience. An alumna of Lady Shri Ram College & MCRC Jamia, she started her career as a video journalist with NDTV in the 90s and subsequently moved to the field of media training and education. In the last couple of years she has helped young media students hone their skills and craft in roles and functions that are considered as essential prerequisites in the field of Mass Communication – ideation, content-creation, execution, delivery and marketing.
To her credit, she has also trained very senior level television producers working for internationally acclaimed channels like Astro Awani, Malaysia and ITV Bangladesh. Having held media workshops in some of the most prestigious institutions like IP College for Women, Delhi University, Times School of Journalism, Lady Shri Ram College and NDTV Indiacan, she currently heads the School of Media & Communication of Whistling Woods International, Mumbai.While she has worked extensively on the academic front of Media, she has simultaneously made independent films on themes close to her heart.
