Shubhangi is an extremely creative child with a vast and rich imagination, supplemented by her ability to structure and give shape to her stories. Her vision is far and wide, and finds expression through writing, drawing, craft making, dance and acting!

Once there was a family in London. They were very rich. In that family, there were two children, Ben and Rose, who lived with their parents. Ben was 18 and Rose was 16 years old. One day both the parents had to leave for some urgent work and they left their kids to their uncle, whom they called Uncle Lee. One day they received a letter from a man. His name was Peter. He wanted them to come to his house and help him find a treasure. Even though Uncle Lee was about 60 years old, still he decided to help Peter find his treasure. At first, he was reluctant about the children accompanying him, but at last he did what he had to.

The next day they went to Peter’s house. Peter said,” First I want you to listen to this story. My great grandfather was a ‘pirate’. He had killed many brave pirates. But, unfortunately, he lost his one eye during a battle. However, he didn’t care that much about his eye, as his dream was to discover lands far and wide. Even though he was a pirate, he always cared about the men on his ship. One night, they reached some unknown place. There, they found a tribe, who followed ‘cannibalism’. They were very powerful and they could kill anyone. My great grandfather unfortunately was weaker than them. He thought he could die. He begged for mercy for a long time. Then they finally agreed but, on one condition. He had to bring an ‘eel’. They told him that the eel was killing their people and only a true pirate can kill it. So my great grandfather went and killed the eel and brought it for the tribe.

The tribe was very happy and took him in. He stayed there for many years, but one day another tribe came there and killed the whole tribe including my great grandfather. The day before the battle, he had dug a hole below a banyan tree and put a pot of gold that the tribe had gifted him for his bravery.

Many years later, before my father died, he told me the secret of the pot about which my grandfather had told him. My grandfather came to
know about the pot through one of my great grandfather’s mates who was very lucky to escape the battle and come back home safely. Now, can you please help me find it?” There was silence for 5 minutes. When at last Uncle Lee asked,” Where is this place?” Peter answered,” In an abandoned city in Africa, near the river Nile.” So they headed for Africa along with the children. After many days, they reached their destination. They found a tall banyan tree and when they found the spot where the pot was hidden, Peter started to laugh cruelly and hit Uncle Lee and children with a stick. As soon as they regained their consciousness, they realised that they were tied with a rope. Fortunately, Uncle Lee had a pocket knife and cut the ropes and when Peter was busy digging, he attacked Peter from behind and killed him. Then he cut the children’s ropes and freed them. They took the treasure pot and went home.
