Whether narrating their very own version of real events or creating tales of adventure, fun and fantasy, children simply fascinate us with their with their description of events, characters, problems and their solutions. At Children’s Corner, we explore the intriguing world of children through their stories, poems, paintings & illustrations.

Every child has a story to tell. Storytelling is perhaps the most powerful way that human beings organize experience. Whether narrating their very own version of real events or creating tales of adventure, fun and fantasy, children simply fascinate us with their description of events, characters, problems and their solutions. But the value of those stories definitely is much more than their charm.

While creating their stories, they learn to establish connections with people and exchange ideas. The positive effects of storytelling on the emotional development of a child is very well known. Using stories is a good way to help children identify their emotions and feelings. Storytelling helps to build a vocabulary that helps them communicate more effectively. Psychologists have argued that narrative thinking is the optimum form of thinking for learning and expressing what we know about ourselves and about other people.

Each story told by a child is a brushstroke on an evolving self-portrait – a self-portrait the child can reflect on, refer to, and revise.

Collating stories in the ‘Children’s Corner’
